5*2 - 2 = 8
5*3 - 3 = 12
5*4 - 2 = 18
5*5 - 1 = 24
5*6 - 0 = 30
5*7 + 1 = 36
5*8 + 2 = 42
5*9 + 3 = 48

Make a table of 5, then add or subtract in this sequence give - 48

The sequence is the addition of prime number in series from 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37.......
So let’s test it on the given numbers in the series;
2+3=5
3+5=8
5+7=12
7+11=18
11+13=24
13+17=30
17+19=36
19+23=42
23+29=52
29+31=60
So on
so next number in this series is 52, 60
