Both trains are traveling fast. However, they do not crash. Why?

There is a tunnel. Inside is only one train track. A train comes in from the left at 2:00 and another train comes in from the right on the same track at 2:00 also. Both come out safely.

How was this possible?

Imagine that you're in a dark room where there is nothing except a drinking cup.
There is a door out of the room but it is locked with 50 locks on the outside.
There are guards pointing guns at the door so if you try to escape you will die.
How do you get out of the room?
