Martina Hingis won the women’s singles title at Wimbledon in 1997. She won the title defeating by Jana Novotná in the final, 2–6, 6–3, 6–3, to become the youngest person since Lottie Dod to win Wimbledon. She is a Czechoslovak-born Swiss professional tennis player who spent a total of 209 weeks as the women's singles world No. 1. Hingis has won five Grand Slam singles titles, twelve Grand Slam women's doubles titles, winning a calendar-year doubles Grand Slam in 1998, and five Grand Slam mixed doubles titles; for a combined total of twenty-two major titles.
