BEN Stokes has smashed the fastest 250 in Test history and combined with Jonny Bairstow for the highest sixth wicket partnership on record. Stokes was run out after the lunch break on the second day of the Cape Town Test for a remarkable 259 from 198 deliveries, featuring 11 sixes and 30 boundaries.
He raised his 250 from his 196th delivery — fittingly, with a violent six off the bowling of Kasigo Rabada — reaching the mark 11 balls faster than the previous record-holder Virender Sehwag.
