Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior , commonly known as Neymar , is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a forward for French club Paris Saint-Germain and the Brazil national team.

He played futsal and street pickup games growing up in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and began his career playing for Santos's junior team when he was 11.

Real Madrid missed out on signing him on. Neymar flew to Spain when he was only 14 to join the Spanish side. He passed all of the tests and was ready to make the move official before Santos paid a hefty price to keep him in Brazil.

He Is the Only Brazilian Athlete to Be on the Cover of TIME Magazine.

At the age of 19, Neymar won the 2011 South American Footballer of the Year award, after coming third in 2010. He followed this up by winning it again in 2012.

He became a father to little Davvi Luca when he was 19 years old. Neymar has refused to reveal the identity of the mother to 'protect her and the child'.

Many Brazilian footballers like Pele, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho have already been adapted in famous cartoon series. Neymar also joined the league when he tied up with famous Brazilian cartoonist Mauricio de Sousa.

Neymar joined Santos in 2003 and, aged 17, made his debut for the club in 2009 and was voted the Best Young Player of the 2009 Campeonato Paulista.

On 10 August 2010, aged 18, he made his senior debut for Brazil in a friendly match against the United States; he scored in a 2-0 win.

Neymar joined Barcelona in June 2013, in his second season at the club in 2014-15, he helped them win the continental treble of La Liga, Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League.

He was named in Brazil’s squad for the 2013 Confederations Cup, and was assigned the number 10 shirt.

In August 2017, Neymar moved from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in a transaction worth €222 million, making him the world's most expensive player.
