The Home Nations Championship (1883-1909 and 1932-39) was played between teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales; France joined the competition in 1910, which was played as the Five Nations Championship 1910-31 and 1947-99, and with Italy's joining in 2000 the Championship became the Six Nations.
