International matches and most first class T20 leagues have a 15 minute interval between innings as the sole mandatory break, but some have a mid inning “time out” for discussing strategies and allow the host broadcaster to run adverts (the IPL being one such example). In hot & humid weather conditions, a brief drinks interval may be permitted mid-innings. If the game has been interrupted by rain, the interval duration may be reduced to 10 mins (but no less, as that is the minimum specified in MCC Law for a change of innings)
At lower levels the interval can be anywhere from 10–20 minutes, depending on the competition rules (the league I stand in has a 15 minute break for its T20 cup competiton).
