23 was his most famous number, starting in college at NC, and with the Bulls. For one game in 1990, he wore 12 when his 23 jersey was stolen. He retired in 1994, and 23 was retired. He wore 45 with the Birmingham Barons, then switched to 35 for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the AFL. When he returned to the NBA, he wore 45, because 23 was retired.
