Harold Dennis "Dickie" Bird, OBE is a retired English international cricket umpire. In February 2014, Yorkshire announced that Bird is to be voted in as the club's president at their Annual General Meeting on 29 March.
Cricket is a sport which is played between two teams of eleven players each who score runs (points) by running between two sets of three small, wooden posts called wickets. Around the pitch is a much larger oval of grass called the cricket ground.
