Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) recommended Manika Batra for the prestigious Arjuna Award. Batra created history by winning the Gold medal in the women’s Singles Table Tennis at the 21st Commonwealth Games. She became the first Indian woman to win gold in the TT women's singles event at the Commonwealth Game
