Winter Olympics consists of all the winter sports which require snow and ice for it to happen. So, generally, the winter games are hosted in February with best of conditions. Some of the sports are Alpine skiing, ice skating, biathlon, ice hockey, luge, snowboarding, etc.

All the other sports out of the above-mentioned sports domain are part of the Summer Olympics. But these are the games which consist of all popular sports like Tennis, Basketball, Athletics, Swimming, and the list goes on. This is the main reason there is a huge fan following for the summer games in comparison to the Winter Games.
