iPhone tethering with Solaris

is it feasible the tethering of an iPhone natively into a virtualized Solaris instance running under VirtualBox ?
Any pointer or link?

Tethering : USB or WIFI connection to iPhone, which then utilises the 3G+ Network, for internet access. USB or WIFI to be done, natively, via VirtualBox (or another VM solution)

I would just tether the MBP to the iphone and use NAT. The limitations are usually not a problem (http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch06.html#nat-limitations). If you want to fake a more complicated setup under solaris, use crossbow.

I have Been looking into it and I can't find anything. My son's iPhone 4 ( iOS 6), according to him, is on and off from our wifi all by itself.

Basically, when he goes on YouTube before 8 am it is on 3G, even if we have wifi on. And the signal is strong enough. Is there a setting That he could have used, unknowingly or not, That can do this?
