Do we have online charging in LTE and what is the upgrade path for from legacy CAP based system.

Yes LTE has provision of online charging via Gy interface. This interface exists between PGW/PCEF and OCS(online charging server). I don't know about legacy CAP based system.

And Vikram mentioned Gy can be used for the online charging interface. In Legacy system CAP/CAMEL protocol is used for the charging purpose and if a interworking/roaming is required between these two type of system then we will require some sort of inter-working function which will convert diameter signaling to CAP-SS7 signaling or vice-versa. Hope this answers your doubt.
