MBSFN or e-MBMS is the broadcast/multicast service. Unlike normal point to point transmission e-MBMS feature serves as broadcasting data from single point (eNB) to mutiple UEs at a same time. All Users who are interested in broadcasting services like ( live cricket, movies, live events) have to subscribe for it prior to service broadcast by service request.

Who are customers subscribed under particular service can be grouped and broadcasts that data to those all users same time .

MBSFN term is related to eMBMS services in LTE network. Different set of nodes such as BMSC, MBMS-GW and MCE are defined to enables multicast/broadcast services for LTE users. MBSFN Area is a group of cells/eNodeBs which are tightly synchronized and can do simultaneous transmission of mutlicast/broadcast data together.
