DwPTS (Downlink Pilot time slot) UpPTS(Uplink Pilot time slot) .

These are located in Special Subframe by separating with Guard Period. These are used to transmit Both DL and UL data in single subframe called as special subframe.

5ms and 10ms are switch periodicity to uplink.

For example in TDD UD Configurations 0,1,2 and 6 .... if you take any uplink subframe after 5ms definetly uplink subframe should occur (5MS switching period)

Where as in TDD UD Configurations 3,4 and 5 .... For every Uplink subframe after 10MS definetly Uplink subframe occurs. (10MS switching period).

if we send uplink info in UpPTS, then in DwPTS will be empty in that particular subframe? and what is TDD UD configuration?
NO, actually in special subframe we can send both UL info in UpPTS and DL info in DwPTS. UD configuration means UL/DL configuration. In LTE TDD specification defined 0 to 6 different UD configurations.
