Switch has more intellegent than hub, even high end switch like Cisco Nexus can work like High end router.
Hub is more like repeater because it's just to connect between the cabling, no intellegent at all.
In switch specification it is mention like Access Switch, Compact switch, Core switch, Distributed switch . So what are differences among them according to their use/functionality ?
Well, now and days when we talk about SDN, it mean we are going to use white box switches. AFAIK switches works at the L2 level and routers work at the L3 level. Is the same concept applicable for white box switches or they can have support for routing also ?
Lets assume device is a computer which is connected to LAN switch and LAN switch has further links in upward. Does a computer initiate ARP request for each destination IP ? Or it initiates ARP request only for a specific group of IPs ?
