Less likely, though it can happen but based on lot of factor which are beyond technology few are listed below -
1. Support from the government (if support from the government is not there most of the time technologies dies ex VoIP is there from last 25 years but adaption picked only in last 2-3 years, All gov see it as potential cash loss in terms of taxes)
2. Ecosystem and funding to the sector.
3. Technology maturity and cost in long run.
