5G: Why millimeter waves have been considered for the next generation radio frequency transmission ?

The radio condition from network side is appropriate but still RLF has happened because of maximum transmission power. Can any one tell me how it is happening in real network?

Hi Harshitha,

It is unlicensed and easy to use more BW for the radio transmission. We can use this for massive mimo and transmit more amount of data (like in GB's) for short range. We can maintain larger SS to avoid the inter frequency noise. Said advantage is not possible in sub 6Ghz, it is costly too, thats why NR uses mm wave.

I don't know exact in distance, But it is very shorter range and applicable for smallcell. Maybe in home you can use.
