When LTE RLC layer re-transmission reach max number, what we do in eNodeB?

In UE side, UE will send RRC connection Re-establishment to eNodeB. But in eNodeB, seems no related description, just say report indication to high layer.

I think, e NodeB should release the RRC Connection. Its similar to what the UE would do (Re-establishment). There is no point in keeping the RRC Connection once max-re-transmission at RLC has reached. Once done, if the UE has UL data it will initiate a new RRC Connection, else if eNodeB has DL data it shall Page the UE.

I have a doubt. When receiving a negative acknowledgement for an AMD PDU or a portion of an AMD PDU by a STATUS PDU from its peer AM RLC entity.

In what basis MAC will provide grant to TX RLC, whether it will provide grant to remaining SDUs stored in the transmission buffer or it will give grant to Re-transmitting AMD PDU

To which buffer it will give high priority whether to Transmission Buffer or Re-Transmission buffer
