Windows 2008 R2 on KVM, getting killed

I have a KVM machine with CentOS 6.4 (64bit), I have a Linux guest running well on this, I created a Windows 2008 R2 guest and once I start it, after sometime all the host memory get exhausted and both the guests (linux+win) killed.

Host has 32 GB RAM, 8 GB is allocated to Linux guest and 8 GB to Windows. Any idea? anyone experienced similar issue?

While I'm not running a W2k8 R2 VM, I do have a CentOS 6.4 host node that has three Windows VMs for testing (WinXP-32bit, Win7-64bit, and Win8-64bit) that has been running well. I also have a handful of other Linux VMs on that host with those Windows ones.

How long is "some time"? Sure sounds like a memory leak since the Windows VM will run for a little
while. What version of KVM are you running?

I am running Tomcat 7.0.41 on a Windows laptop (8.1 Pro). I recently reinstalled the Windows and since re-installing tomcat and my server application, it runs fine when I connect to it from a web browser.

However, when I tell my desktop client app to connect to the server, it fails on the initial connection with a 405status. I am running the server is debug, from Eclipse, and have put breakpoints in the doGet, doPost, and doPut methods of my ControllerServlet class that extends the java.servlet.http.HttpServlet. None of these breakpoints fire before the client gets back the 405 status. (the client works fine if connecting to the real server running tomcat 6 on an Ubuntu server.)

I can find no place locally where verb filtering is being configured.

Any suggestions?

I just did a clean net install of CentOS 6.4 and when I run virt-manager it says that qemu-kvm is missing, but when I try to install it with yum it says that there isn't a package with that name. Is something wrong with my configuration? Or what is causing this package to appear as not available?

I am using CentOS 6.4 on 4 servers, guests are also CentOS 6.4

Network is setup using virtio, and vhost, this works well but sometime I see connection issue from application to DB.

I found that sometimes latency increases from 0.200 ms approx to 123ms or even more sometimes, this happens only for 1-2 packets but keep happening after sometime.

CPU load remains under 1, CPU usages is around 20-30%.

If I ping from host machine to host machine then there is consistent latency, this only happens when ping from a guest machine to either other guest machines or a host machine.

Did anyone face similar issue?

I just installed Samba on my Centos 6.4 computer. Smbstatus says my version is 3.6.9-151.el6-4.1.

My smb.conf file only has a [global] and [homes] section.

My configuration works, as expected, from a Win7 Virtual Box computer and a Win8 Virtual Box computer. I can see the share from the Windows file explorer and can map the share to a network drive. The Samba server is not virtual.

The problem is my other Win7 laptop which is running some sort of home edition of Win7. I did everything I could in control panel to enable file sharing but I still can't see the Samba share. I can ping the computer running Samba? I tried to launch "gpedit.msc" but this program was not there.

Do you think it would work if I upgraded Samba to the latest version 4.1? Should I consider upgrading to Win7 professional?
