We have tried to do build with the normal user, but it failed after some time without giving any permission issue. I have made compilation directory permission as 777 and the same code has been compiled successfully with sudo or root user.

I found a reference on the web about a tablet that comes with Ubuntu installed. But couldn't find any further information.

Does this unit exist? If so, how well does it do at reading all the various epub formats?

I'm shopping for either a dedicated eReader or a tablet to use as an eReader. I've no plans to replace my desktops with a tablet. This is just for collecting various old books in one place for easy reading.

I like the physical size of the iPad Mini, but the price is a bit high for my use, I think. iPad sized units are physically larger than I would like.

I have Ubuntu 12.04 and I can connect to my Android device via USB. I installed MTP support and it works fine, as it seems.

Also, my Ubuntu computer and the Android device is connected to the Internet via WiFi. Is there an easy way to connect them to each other via WiFi for easy file sharing? A step by step instruction would be nice, as I am not even sure where to start.

We are planning to customize the Android OS and sell the tablet. For the POC we took samsung tablets and used the code from Cyanogenmod firmware for customization.
The idea is to get the tablets and Android source code from vendor and modify the OS code, flash the tablets and sell them. Is that correct, do the hardware vendors share device specific OS code ?
