How to use Uiautomator for Android

I have started using uiautomator for testing purpose from eclipse. How do I collect all the objects on my screen and use them for programing. Also, How can I use the collected objects and code on it. Whatever sample codes are present are talking about general Uiobject or Uiscrollable... how can I make it specific using objects in my device.
