NIC bonding in Ubuntu: no slave joined bond0 error

I am trying to do NIC bonding. I am following this tutorial.
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBonding

The bond is created but the MII status is down.
The error is:

"NO SLAVE JOINED BOND0 CONTINUING ANYWAY"

Does anyone have idea about this problem?

I'm facing some trouble setting up a 13.04 server (amd64) which I want to use Ethernet bonding and NFS mounted volumes.

I've read the ubuntu tutorial about Ethernet bonding but seems the machine try to mount NFS volumes BEFORE the network comes up , the result is the volumes are not mounted at boot up.

Please help.

I've discovered in syslog that postfix is reporting

postfix/cleanup[31051]: warning: mail_queue_enter: create file incoming/407669.31051: No space left on device

I also have problems with boinc suddenly stopping, apparently because it loses its connection to localhost. I don't know if this is connected.

df reports that all disks have plenty of space (root is only 40% used), no swap is being used, the waste bin is empty, and disks appear to be healthy. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

I'm using 14.10, with 3.16.0-25-generic.

Yesterday, all application sounds for one of my user account stopped. I still get the startup sound for that account and on the other user accounts the sound works OK. It's obvious that it's not the hardware.

I am using the Mint desktop. I checked to see if the sound volume was turned down and it is at 100%. I also checked to see if the sound was muted, it's not muted. I checked under system /preferences / sound and everything seems to be OK. When I tested the speakers using the sound utility I do get sounds. Since I get the startup sound, the speakers work when tested (using the affected user account, and the other user accounts work fine.

Only the applications (Firefox, VLC, etc.) seem affected. I checked the applications but I doubt it is an application setting because all applications are affected. Any suggestions on where else to look?
