While registering to lte network, UE sends FGI (feature group indicator) to network . I want to know what network does after receiving feature group indicator from UE. Is there any use of FGI at eNodeB level ?

Feature group indicator (FGI) is an IE, used to inform to network about UE capability w.r.t multiple LTE features. Based on the received indication from UE, network either MME or eNodeB may ask UE to perform different operation. For Release 8 UE, feature Group Indicator is a 32 bit long string and each bit indicates that a particular feature is supported or not . For example: bit 5 in FGI bitmap indicates "Long DRX cycle", if bit is '1' then it means UE supports lte "Long drx feature" otherwise feature is not supported.

2. Is the ECGI/TAI constructed based on the primary plmn (PLMN broadcasted in 0th index in SIB1 ) or based on the UE selected PLMN ?
