Is there a way to steal the focus in raring ringtail whenever someone contacts me in Pidgin IM Conversation Window. I do a ALT-TAB to look at the conversation window if someone has pinged me during which i miss most important conversation. Any suggestions please? Screenshot

I'm new to Python. I downloaded the 64-bit build of Python 2.7.10 from www.python.org/downloads/release/python-2710. I run Windows 7 Pro on a Dell PC.

I find that the installation package creates a folder called "Python 2.7" in my Start menu, with both a command prompt and IDLE GUI options.

I hold my scripts in another directory that is parallel to but not under the one where Python 2.7 resides, so I set the Environment Variable PYTHONPATH to include the directory where my scripts reside. Unfortunately, I am unable to reach them in either the IDLE GUI or the "Python command line" in that folder in my start menu. The only way I have managed to run Python scripts is to open an ordinary command prompt from Accessories, navigate to the directory with the scripts, and run python from the command prompt in that directory.

Can anyone let me know what I'm not doing that I should be doing to run Python and my scripts from the parallel directory under the GUI or the command line from the start menu folder ?

Has anyone else got the notice for Windows 10 Upgrade for free from Windows 7 and 8.1. If so have you upgraded and if you did how do you like it.

Also did you lose all saved files on your computer, did you have to put them on another drive?

Currently I'm trying to install Hadoop 2.6.0 on a Windows 7 enterprise computer. I used the following guide

http://www.srccodes.com/p/article/38/build-install-configure-run-apache-hadoop-2.2.0-microsoft-windows-os

I already fixed some previous problems by installing a correct version of Protocol Buffer. But now ran into a new problem.

[ERROR] FAILED TO EXECUTE GOAL ORG.CODEHAUS.MOJO:EXEC-MAVEN-PLUGIN:1.2:
        EXEC (COMPILE-MS-WINUTILS) ON PROJECT HADOOP-COMMON:
COMMAND EXECUTION FAILED. PROCESS EXITED WITH AN ERROR: 1(EXIT VALUE: 1) ->
        [HELP 1]

I searched the internet and found that perhaps my MSBuild was causing the problem, but I check my PATH and it contained the MSBuild path to the correct location. I'm using .Net Framework 4.0

I tried running "mvn clean install" and from the tests I got the following errors.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Test set: org.apache.hadoop.security.authentication.client.TestKerberosAuthenticator
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tests run: 14, Failures: 0, Errors: 2, Skipped: 0, Time elapsed: 33.35 sec

Any suggestion on how to proceed.
