F18: Create a USB install of CentOS 6 from iso

On a F18, I installed livecd-tools-18.15-1

I downloaded CenOS6.x minimal .iso and with livecd-iso-to-disk the resulting USB is never bootable: the computer doesnt boot on it. Tested on many computers.

The fact is I succeded to install CentOS on a Netbook (no CD/DVD tray), but I dont remember how I invoked livecd-iso-to-disk.

I tried with many combinations (/dev/sdc is the USB pendrive):

$ sudo livecd-iso-to-disk --format --force  /dev/sdc

$ sudo livecd-iso-to-disk --format --force  /dev/sdc1

- Format with VFAT on partiion #1 then
$ sudo livecd-iso-to-disk  /dev/sdc1

- Format with Ext on partiion #1 then
$ sudo livecd-iso-to-disk  /dev/sdc1

...

I don't remember what I tried, but it was many, mostly tried with CentOS 6.2

Please, if someone has a F18 + an USB drive: would you test and see if you succeed? If you ever succeed, how did you?

I don't know how livecd-iso-to-disk works in detail, but can you post the output of fdisk -l ? Maybe also an ls -l of the root directory.

We are developing internal software using MySql dB and are planning to use Fedora for the server.

The question is how do we know that this hardware (motherboard, CPU) really support Fedora version 18 or 19? We are looking at mobo from Asus or Intel or Gigabyte, but did not find firm answer. We did not find the info from mobo websites either.

The mobo that got our interest are the ones with H77 or Z77 or H87 chipsets.

Is there any URL for me to get the information we need?

I have upgraded a pc from fedora 18 to 19, and I am left with an ugly grub2 boot loader. So, I have removed packages grub2, grub2-tools, erased /etc/default/grub, re-installed them, and run:

grub2-install /dev/sda grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg

But grub still has no theme. Package grub2-starfield-theme is installed though. When I reinstalled grub2-tools, no /etc/default/grub was created. Is there a reason for that?

The Sound Icon came up missing from System Tray after reboot, It is not even in Hidden Icons.
How do I get The Sound Icon back in System Tray ? If I click on Kmix from Menu it won't start and display Kmix. If I remember it was just after I did a Update.
