What are the difficulties associated with bootstrapping?

• New versions have changed a lot. got to be careful because has not been trivial to update
• No built in framework. this is a pro/con, but makes it harder when dealing with the javascript components and third party extension
• Wide disparity of quality templates. most people don't start with bootstrap from scratch, but use a bootstrap template. these vary in quality widely and introduce lots of bloat to try to include features that you would have thought would have been included.
• Disorganization of third party extensions. there's no central repo for bootstrap extensions, so they can be hard to find
