How do you define 'traction' for a start-up?

I define "traction" as -- once the biz plan and financing (if any) is in place, working a list of objectives meant to build the business. Be it marketing, logistics, salesforce creation...all qualify as vehicles for forward momentum in your company.

Though traction has a different meaning for the different stage of business. In startup traction means having a measurable set of customers or users that serves to prove to a potential investor that your startup is “going places.”
