John Ford
John Ford is the only director to win four Oscars for Best Director, followed by Frank Capra and William Wyler with three. Ford won his Oscars for his movies of social comment, rather than for his classic westerns. His winning movies were: The Informer (1935), The Grapes of Wrath (1940), How Green Was My Valley (1941), and The Quiet Man (1952).
