Kate Tempest
The plays deal with surviving fragile families/homelessness, and women's prisons respectively. Tempest (b.1985) is a poet, rap artist, performance artist and playwright. She won the Ted Hughes Award for her 2012 work "Brand New Ancients", and releases studio albums in both sound and book form. She was guest artistic director at the Brighton Festival in England; previous guest directors include Anish Kapoor, Vanessa Redgrave, Brian Eno and Laurie Anderson.
