As King Kong is being killed on top of the Empire State Building - shot down by fighter planes - Carl Denham (Robert Armstrong), the cynical film-maker who captured Kong on Skull Island, says the memorable last line: “Oh no, it wasn't the airplanes. It was beauty killed the beast.”
