No other villain, including Doctor Octopus, has troubled Spider-man as much as Norman Osborn has. Gwen Stacy's death is one of the driving reasons as to why Peter hates the Goblin and part of how he became his arch nemesis, though it was only one of many atrocities that Norman's inflicted on Peter's life.
