Dudhwa National Park is located on the Indo-Nepal border in the Lakhimpur-kheri district in Uttar Pradesh.
The park covers an area of 680 sq km and is part of the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve. Along with kishanpur WLS and Katarniaghat WLS, Dudhwa is the best example of the Terai ecosystem. The national park is home to some of the finest Sal forests in India, with some of the trees being over 150 years old and over 70 ft (21 m) tall.
The park is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including tigers, swamp deers, Indian one-horned Rhinoceroses, sambars, barking deers, spotted deers, hog deers, leopards, sloth bears, jackals, civets, jungle cats, fishing cats, wild boars and 90 species of fishes. Over 450 species of birds including the Swamp Francolin, Great Slaty Woodpecker, Bengal Florican and many more can be found here.
