The national flag was first hoisted at RSS Headquarter on August 15, 1947. Second time it was hoisted on on January 26, 1950. Then there was a full 52 years pause of the Tiranga (Tricolor) hoisting at the RSS headquarter and hoisted on Jan 26, 2002 at the HQ and Smruti Bhawan, the building that houses the memorials of its founder Hedgewar and Guru Golwalkar.
