English is the most commonly spoken language in the world. One out of five people can speak or at least understand English. It is treated as an international language (the official language of 53 countries) and a language of Business, science, aviation, computers, diplomacy, tourism and internet.
I believe above reasoning is sufficient to learn English as a subject or at least as a second language.
