If I was right for sure but the answer will hurt other people's feelings would you say it or remain silent?

Recently my mom told me that I howl at night while sleeping. Now I know it's normal for dogs to do that. But what does it mean when a human does it.

It's more on a case to case basis -
Suppose your truth is beneficial for the other person in long run but it will hurt him now then you should tell him/her. But its just hurting and no pain/gain attached to it may be you can remain silent.

In short, there is a no definite answer to it it should be handled on the case to case basis.
