Bcos of its geographical location Rajasthan receives scanty rainfall. We know about the south western monsoon which is the main cause of rainfall in most parts of India. This south western monsoon comes from the south western part of India from the Arabian Sea and goes in the same direction and strikes the northeast mountains of India. Then its direction changes towards northwest and while it reaches Rajasthan it gets all its moisture off on the way. Whatever moisture it contains is drained in the eastern part of the aravalli range which is located in an opposite direction of these winds.
