He said that the Copernican view of the universe was correct
Nicolaus Copernicus argued the (at the time) highly revolutionary thesis that the sun was at the unmoving centre of the universe with the planets, including Earth, revolving round it. The Copernican model departed from the Ptolemaic system that had prevailed in western culture and Christian teaching for centuries, placing Earth at the centre of the Universe.
