Kinky Boots
"Kinky Boots", for which Lauper wrote the musical score and the lyrics, was awarded the Tony Awards for Best Musical and for Best Original Score, and the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical. It tells the story of Charlie Price who develops a plan to produce custom footwear for drag queens, and is based on the 2005 British film "Kinky Boots" written by Geoff Deane and Tim Firth.
