The Rhinoceros Party
The Rhinoceros Party existed as a registered political party in Canada from 1963 until it was officially dissolved in 1985 with the death of Ferron. It still, however, exists and fields candidates in general elections. The party promises fantastic, surreal, impossible things to amuse voters; promises have included repealing the law of gravity, reforming retail lottery laws by replacing cash prizes with senate seats, improving the economy by giving all Canadians a minimum of two jobs each, putting up a candidate with the same name as another aspiring politician on the ticket and giving them the slogan "Vote for both", installing brake pedals on the passenger side of cars, and changing tax codes to allow pets to be claimed as dependants.
