Mud volcanoes
Mud volcanoes or mud domes erupt mud, slurries, water and gases, rather than magma or molten rock. Temperatures can range from near 100 °C (212 °F) to occasionally 2 °C (36 °F). There are 2508 mud volcanoes and mud volcanic manifestations in 42 geographical regions of the world; one large volcano has continued to erupt since 2006, at its peak erupted up to 180,000 m³ of mud per day, and has buried villages in mud up to 40 metres thick destroying the homes of 60,000 people.
