Two more than the current 118 have been proposed as possible synthetic elements, but as at 2020 are not yet known to have been observed. 63 is a number related to the table developed by Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869; 94 is the number of naturally occurring elements in the table, the rest being synthesised.
