Battle of Bunker Hill, USA, 1775
The battle was between British and defending American forces, and the American supply of bullets was dwindling fast. The American forces eventually retreated, but British casualties were heavy. The command was practical - bullets were in short supply and, even with good supplies, bullets and rifles of the time were not reliably accurate. It was probably given in one form or another in many situations. However, it has been most popularly associated with the Bunker's Hill confrontation.
