Opinion polls in Japan just over two months before the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo (opening delayed until July 2021 in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic raging in 2020), estimated what percentage of people were in favour of continuing to hold the Games at that date?

Under 20%
The percentages were 43% in favour of cancellation, 40% in favour of postponement. The pandemic was still a major health and health infrastructure concern in Japan at the time, with still only very limited vaccination in the country and increasing waves of pandemic across the world. Later polls, in June closer to the opening and as Japan's vaccination rates increased slightly, showed a relaxing of opposition with up to 50% in favour (postponement was not an option in the poll).
