The countries were: United Arab Emirates, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Spain, and Syrian Arab Republic. Two other, Austria and Hungary, were added in 2012 and Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, and Portugal were added in 2016, making a total of eighteen countries. As at 2021 falconry is the largest multi-national nomination on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
