Languages
Friulian is spoken in the Friuli region of northeastern Italy. The first written records of the language have been found in administrative acts of the 13th century.
Ladin is mainly spoken in the Dolomite Mountains in Northern Italy in the provinces of South Tyrol, Trentino, and Belluno, by the Ladin people.
Both languages show links with Swiss Romansh and each other.
