1792-93
Alexander Mackenzie crossed Canada from Fort Chipewyan on the east coast to Bella Coola, British Columbia, on the west. He also returned via the same route, the only early transcontinental traveller to do so. The dates 1803-06 are the more famous transcontinental expedition by Lewis and Clark.
