Ryszard Kaczorowski
During Soviet rule in Poland from 1939 to 1990, the Second Polish Republic which had been supplanted maintained a government-in-exile in Paris. Kaczorowski was the last president in exile. Moscicki was the president in 1939; Pilsudski was an influential statesman in the Second Polish Republic; Kwasniewski succeeded Walesa and served as President from 1995 to 2005.
