BDO and PDC
In 1992 what became the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) split from the British Darts Organisation (BDO) and two separate Championships were held annually from 1994. In 2020 the BDO folded. The World Darts Federation (WDF) also holds world championships, biennially, and continental championships, and in 2020 announced plans to launch the WDF World Championship and WDF World Masters.
