It can squeak, or chirp
The hawkmoth's ability to make a sound is not unique among moths, however among nearly all the rest the sounds are audible only by other moths, other insects or potential predators, rather than audible to the human ear as the hawkmoth's is. The hawkmoths also have an ability to mimic the scent of honeybees; they raid bees' nests for honey.
